When ka likai returned she was served her daughter’s flesh, on learning the truth she was devastated and threw herself to death from the waterfall. This is how it received its name.

At a distance of 17 km from Cherrapunji, Kynrem Waterfalls is a stunning fall located near Cherrapunji in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya. Falling from a height of about 305 m (1,001 feet), Kynrem Falls is one of the highest waterfalls in Meghalaya that cascades in three levels from the top of a hill.

It is said that a huge python named Thlen was caught by local brave men and destroyed its hood with a stone from the fall and removed itself from the reign of terror.
